Nike's Cortez or Onitsuka Tiger's Corsair, Which came first?

Few sneakers have a more fascinating lineage than the classic Onitsuka Tiger Corsair. If you think there’s something familiar about this elegant retro racer then you’d be right. This was the jogging shoe of the early 70s. Layered like a sponge cake, nothing rivalled the comfort of the cushy sole unit. Not only was this a massively comfortable upgrade from the tennis clobber of yore, but it also looked pretty sharp – and it wasn’t long before it outgrew...

A Guide to Levi's Tabs

How can you tell when your Levis were made? Why have some Levis got big ‘E’s’ and small ‘e’s?’ Why do some have just the trademark logo and why are some orange? We’re going to take you through a simple guide on what tab colours means what, and how to differentiate even the smallest of differences on Levi’s tabs. What's with the Red Tab on Levis? When Levis patent expired in 1890, competitors such as Stronghold, Boss of the Road, Can't Bust ‘Em started manufacturing riveted denim jeans. From a distance the pocket stitching looked similar, they had a patch on the waistband and of course, they were all blue. Frustrated, the national sales manager of Levi’s, Chris Lucier, came up with...

Gen Z Are crazy for 2000s Teen Culture And Millennials Feel Old. Lanvin's ode to the MTV-era, Chanel's throwback accessories. Romanticising the early 00s has become a big post-pandemic mood! The fetishisation of bygone eras is actually deeply telling, a clue to our hopeful motions towards an unsure future. While it feels like we’re only just getting over the hangover of – yet another! – nineties renaissance, the cultural psyche has shifted focus, to the early 00s. Gen Z Tik-Tokers are longing after teen culture in the 2000s, making millennials feel like their youth was lightyears ago.  Whether it is the Killers punk-rock anthems, overblown hairdos, scene kids, Motorola flip phones or the multicoloured neon visor shades worn by Kanye West in the Stronger video,...
