Vintage Marc O’Polo Shirt
Marc O’Polo was established in Stockholm in 1967 by Swedes Rolf Lind and Göte Huss alongside American Jerry O. Sheets. Their inaugural collection featured a patchwork shirt crafted from hand-woven Indian cotton. The brand’s first advertising campaign, highlighted by a strawberry image, gained international recognition. At a menswear trade fair in Cologne, the founders met Werner Böck, who would become the majority shareholder and Chairman of the Supervisory Board. On that same day, Böck founded Marc O’Polo Deutschland Vertriebs GmbH, marking a revolutionary step for the company. By the early 1970s, Marc O’Polo expanded into full men’s and women’s lines and launched the CAMPUS brand. The iconic logo sweatshirt followed, transforming hoodies and sweatshirts into mainstream fashion across Europe during the 1980s.
