Vintage Juicy Couture Hoodie. In 1997, two friends, Gela Nash (later married to Duran Duran's John Taylor) and Pamela Skaist-Levy (then married to filmmaker Jefery Levy), founded Juicy Couture, a fashion label that originated as Travis Jeans in 1989, specializing in maternity pants. As their company grew, they rebranded as Juicy Couture in 1996. To gain public attention, they began sending their designs to celebrities. The introduction of the iconic Juicy tracksuit in 2001, custom-made for Madonna, sparked a trend and made the brand instantly famous. Other celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears, and Paris Hilton also contributed to the brand's popularity. From being a limited brand, Juicy Couture expanded globally and became synonymous with the image of "new money" attire in the late 2000s.
