The Vintage Polo Assn Rugby Shirt. United States Polo Association products have been at the center of a legal battle between Polo Ralph Lauren and USPA since 1984. The Ralph Lauren Corporation, owner of the iconic Polo Ralph Lauren brand, filed a lawsuit against USPA for trademark infringement. Despite countersuits, the court has consistently ruled in favor of Ralph Lauren, until a 2014 dismissal of the case. The companies are currently embroiled in a dispute over the use of the double horsemen logo on a new line of sunglasses launched by USPA.
