Vintage 70s IS 674 MS Flight Bomber Schott Leather Jacket. Talon Zip. Made in the US. Pristine condition considering the age.
Schott has made many military styled flight jacket's, more numerous then I can list here. I have listed the most popular and basic A/2 flight jacket's that were made, and a little history on the first flight jacket made by Schott.
Our records show that variations of a aviation jacket were made by Schott back in the 1930's, including production for Beck under their label. These early flight jacket were made form Horsehide leather and actually had a "Perfecto Horsehide Leather label, not a Flight jacket label.
In the 1940's the style 674 A/2 flight jacket was offered in Horsehide leather with brown wool lining, also available was the 674M with a Genuine Sheepskin lining and Genuine Mouton fur collar.
During WWII we produced jackets for the military, such as the G-1, MA-!, and N-3B. The RAF B-3 Sheepskin jacket was also produced for the pilots during WWII.
After WWII, the classic A/2 Flight jacket became the start of many flight jacket's to be made by Schott. The 674 was offered in horsehide and then in 1950 produced in Steerhide, the style had a quilt lining and a leather self collar. In 1970 to 1981 a Steerhide 674M style was offered which had quilt lining and a synthetic Mouton Pile collar.
The spin off from the 674 in 1971 was the style 674MS which was in Steerhide with a acrylic boot pile lining and a synthetic Mouton collar.
