The Vintage Cardif Devils 2005 Ice Hockey Jersey represents the rich history of the Duffield Devils, originally known as the Duffield Boys' Club, founded in North York by Jim Nugent in 1957. Incorporated by Ontario in 1959 to provide sports and crafts for local youth, the club’s name comes from the historic Duffield Estates near Dufferin Street and Wilson Avenue. In 1989, the club was renamed Duffield Sports Club of North York to meet new provincial standards. Initially focused on supervised hockey and softball, the club participated in North York leagues and utilized Downsview Arena for many years. As the community evolved, the club expanded its offerings to include soccer before focusing exclusively on a broad hockey program serving over 500 children annually.
