Treviso, founded Lotto in Montebelluna, northern Italy, known as the world center for footwear manufacturing. Since then, Lotto has become a leading manufacturer of sports footwear, starting with tennis shoes and expanding to models for basketball, volleyball, athletics, and football. The company later ventured into sports clothing, and in its first decade, focused mainly on the Italian market. They also sponsored well-known names in professional tennis, including Martina Navratilova, Boris Becker, and Thomas Muster.
