The Ben Sherman Original label was created, in 1965. The company had opened a small office on the upper floors of an office-block in a London backstreet. This acted as the showroom for their shirt and beachwear collections. The first Ben Sherman store was opened on Brighton's Duke Street in 1967.
Ben Sherman remained popular in the late 70s and early 80s as acts including The Jam, The Specials and Madness helped the brand appeal to the mod revival and rude boy movements.
No movie genre has a better style in fashion than mob movies. Goodfellas, Donnie Branco, Carlito’s Way, every season of The Sopranos…
And every mob movie at least features one awesome get up in leather. That’s rule no.1. “Mob fashion“ in general – wide suit pants, Hawaiian shirts, suits, leather loafers and track suits – has been a major influence in fashion for quite some time.
Every Sopranos character could easily just put on an Adidas get-up and be ready to start a new day of crime.

The honorable mention for leather jackets in movies – David Lynch’s Wild at Heart. His 1990 road movie always had a special place in my heart because of that exact scene.
